Well we have got it and boy is it heavy this is the first ps3 i've had and they are very heavy (probs because the internal psu and the 4 million screws-which seems like something sony likes to do).

This first thing we had to do was reflow the board, it booted first go... well sort of.. there was no picture which ment it was more than likely a GPU problem, so we stripped it down again and reflowed the board, put it back to geather and.... still no picture. well this is where the magiver syndrome kicks in. Garden hose to the rescue! Da dit de daa... We used a small peice of hose cut down the middle adn flattened it out and placed it between the cpu/gpu clamp and the plate it sat on( if you have fixed ylod before you will probable know what I mean) screwed it down, put it back togeather and gave it a pat for good luck and what do you know IT WORKED YaY!

Now the next issue BR-Rom drive was not taking disks, the problem the previous owner got his copy of COD black ops stuck inside when it yloded, he goe the disk out but messed up the alignment also. The solution was easy just re align the drive, after half an hour it was back in shape and booting disks as if it were new.

The next step was to install some CFW so we could run linux ect.

stay tuned for more on the subject soon
